When you register for and use JurisAI, we may collect the following personal information:

  • Account Information: First name, last name, email address, password (encrypted)
  • Professional Information: Bar Roll Number (optional), law firm name (optional)
  • Usage Data: Research queries, saved cases, analysis history, feature usage patterns
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, access timestamps
  • Uploaded Documents: Pleadings or legal documents submitted for analysis (processed in real-time; not permanently stored unless explicitly saved by you)

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To provide AI-powered legal research, case analysis, pleading analysis, and related features
  • Account Management: To create, maintain, and secure your account
  • Service Improvement: To improve the accuracy and quality of our AI analysis and platform features
  • Communication: To send important service updates, security alerts, and (with your consent) feature announcements
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data based on:

  • Consent: By creating an account, you consent to the collection and processing of your data as described in this policy
  • Contract Performance: Processing necessary to deliver the services you subscribed to
  • Legitimate Interest: Improving platform security, preventing fraud, and enhancing service quality

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only with:

  • AI Service Providers: Your research queries are sent to third-party AI providers (Anthropic API) for processing. These queries do not include your personal identity information — only the legal question or document content.
  • Hosting and Infrastructure: Trusted service providers who assist in operating the platform, bound by confidentiality obligations
  • Law Enforcement: When required by Philippine law, court order, or lawful government request

5. Data Storage and Security

  • Passwords are encrypted using industry-standard bcrypt hashing
  • All data transmissions are protected via HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • We implement reasonable organizational and technical security measures consistent with industry standards
  • Research session data and uploaded documents are retained only as long as necessary for service delivery or as required by law

6. Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained for the duration of your account. Upon deletion request, your data will be removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
  • Research History: Retained for your convenience and accessible in your account. You may delete individual research sessions at any time.
  • Uploaded Pleadings: Processed in real-time for analysis and not permanently stored on our servers unless you explicitly save the results.

7. Your Rights Under RA 10173

As a data subject under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to:

  • Be Informed: Know what data we collect and how it is used
  • Object: Refuse or withdraw consent to data processing
  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)

JurisAI uses essential cookies and local storage for authentication (JWT tokens) and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

JurisAI is designed for legal professionals and law students aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of JurisAI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
